Bitumen (also referred to as asphalt) is a viscous, sticky, black liquid or semi-solid form of petroleum used in for its unique waterproofing properties. Thanks to that, bitumen is extensively used in construction for both sealing and waterproofing of roofs, basements as well as below-ground structure; bridge decks or roads.
